Manitoba Canola Growers Association Creative Canola Oil Baking Special for the best baked item using Canola Oil.  The recipe must be submitted with the entry.  The Manitoba Canola Growers Association may use the recipes for any future purposes.

2011 BERNARDIN Guidelines and Prizes:

To qualify for Bernardin prizes, all winning competition entries – home canned foods – must have been submitted in mason jars with properly sealed two-piece metal SNAP Lids.  (Regular gold BERNARDIN SNAP Lids and colorful Bernardin Collection Ellite SNAP Lids are equally acceptable for competition.  Unsealed jars, items with lug caps or wax seals are unacceptable.  Mason jars are specifically designed for home canning.)  Winners are eligible for National Gift Pack Competition.

 

Section A – BERNARDIN BEST OF SHOW AWARD:

*Winner to be selected from among Fair Competition that includes a Minimum of 3 home canning entry categories in which there have been at least 10 total entries

*Best of Bernardin winner is Fair’s “BEST HOME CANNING” entry submitted in a Bernardin mason jar & lid based on highest number of accumulated points (Fair decides point system) OR judges’ choice of Best Home Canning Entry selected from among qualifiers

     1st – $30.00 Gift Certificate plus Rosette Prize Ribbon

*Qualifiers must enter products prepared with a BERNARDIN Fruit Pectin (dry or liquid).

*Entry must be submitted with proof-of-purchase (package or UPC) (Note: CERTO is NOT a Bernardin Product)

Section C – BERNARDIN GIFT PACK COMPETITION:

*Must include at least 3 filled mason jars sealed with Bernardin Snap or Bernardin Collection Elite SNAP Lids.

*Must be submitted in an appropriate container, not necessarily a basket.

*Maximum cost-container and components –not to exceed $20.00

*Entry may be decorated for any theme (holiday, get well etc.) and may include appropriate additional items such as soap, candles, candy, soup mixes, etc.

*Judges select winner based on creativity, quality of home canned product, perceived value & appropriateness of presentation.
