M.A.A.S QUILT COMPETITION

*Must have an appropriate title.

*Must be a minimum of 152 cm x 178 cm (60” x 70”).

*Must not be made from pre-stamped or precut quilt kits, however ‘Block-of-the-

  Month’ quilts are eligible.

*Entry can be hand quilted or machine quilted.  NO commercial quilting will be allowed.  

  The entry must be quilted by the person submitting the quilt.

*Will be judged according to the criteria in the “Judging Standards Handbook”.

*May be exhibited at as many fairs as the exhibitor wishes, however, at the district

  competition the quilt must represent the society where it was first chosen as the winner.

PRIZE MONEY

    District Level                        Prize Monies of $20.00 will be awarded for the top four quilts in each category

    Provincial Level        Hand Quilted                            1st - $800.00                         2nd - $400.00

                                   Machine Quilted                        1st - $500.00                         2nd - $300.00     

 

EXHIBITOR

*Must not have won first prize in the Provincial Competition in the past 3 years.

*Must indicate at time of entry, their interest in being considered for the provincial quilt competition.

*May enter any number of quilts at the local fair level, however, only one quilt per

  exhibitor can advance to the district provincial finals.

*Must advise societies at time of entry if the quilt is a winner at a previous fair.

*Quilt exhibitors must have a fabric quilt label attached to the bottom right corner on

  the backside of their quilt.

*Quilts must be delivered/packaged in a durable and labeled clear plastic bag for

  handling.

*A hanging sleeve attached along the top backside of the quilt for the event/competition

  display and judging purposes would be greatly appreciated.

       -The sleeve dimension is the width of the quilt and four (4) inches in depth.

*Is responsible for insuring their own quilt.  The sponsors, societies, and M.A.A.S will

  not be liable for damage or loss.
