"SARA the Camel"

Glenboro's most obvious attraction.  "SARA" guards the Village and looks north towards the nearby Manitoba Desert


Glenboro Walking Tour    
This is a self guided walking tour which points out many of the interesting sights of the town, including SARA the camel.  Brochures can be picked up at the Village Office.  Phone 827-2083.

 

Glenboro Water Tower 
Located one block east of the junction of Railway Avenue and Broadway, this CPR Water Tower was built in 1904 and was both a federal and provincial heritage site.  The tower burned to the ground on April 4, 2008.

 

 

 

 

 

Stockton Ferry

Located 12 km west of Glenboro, then north for 3 km, east 1 km and north 2 km on the Assiniboine River.  This is the last operational ferry of its' type in Manitoba.  It is in operation spring, summer, and fall.  Contact the R.M. office at 827-2252 or the Ferry Operator at 827-2250 for specific hours of operation that may be changed from those below:

 The Ferry will be closed each day between the hours of 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and from midnight to 6:00 a.m.

Trans Canada Trail

The Glenboro/South Cypress Trail Association has completed Phase I of their Trans Canada Trail project; 22km of new trail within the confines of Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Access to the trail may be gained directly across the road from the Kiche Manitou Campground entrance. Experience the natural beauty and surroundings that the Spruce Woods area has to offer!
