Located just 10 km north of Glenboro in the
surrounding R. M. of South Cypress, this Provincial Park is synonymous with
Glenboro. Spruce Woods Provincial Park was established in 1970 and
occupies approximately 7,460 acres of the Spruce Woods Forest Preserve. Provincial

Or call 948-3333 in Winnipeg or (toll-free) 1-888-482-2267 Mon-Fri from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.New in 2006 was the introduction of the "Yurt"...part cabin, part tent...large, fabric-sided, domed shelters - 16 feet in diameter - which include windows, a skylight, lockable doors, electricity, a heater, lighting, rustic log furniture including a bunk bed, futon, table, chairs and small storage cabinet. Each Yurt will accommodate four adults or a family of five, and all you need to bring is sleeping bags, pillows, food, eating & cooking utensils. Click HERE for pictures. The Glenboro/South Cypress Trail Association has completed Phase I of their Trans Canada Trail project; 22km of new trail within the confines of Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Access to the trail may be gained directly across the road from the Kiche Manitou Campground entrance. Experience the natural beauty and surroundings that the Spruce Woods area has to offer! For more information, call the Development Office in Glenboro at (204) 827-2575. Horseback riders in Spruce Woods Provincial Park use an extensive network of trails (see the snowmobile trail map). In co-operation with Spruce Woods Park and Park staff, the Friends of Spruce Woods operate two equestrian campsites in the park. One is located about five miles directly east of the Kiche Manitou Campground at the old stable and the other on the banks of the Assiniboine River which is reached by Park Road north of Cypress River. Backcountry trails and roads make up many miles of enjoyable riding for families and groups who take advantage of the facilities and the scenery of Spruce Woods Park. Camping is open to anyone who wishes to spend time in the park or you can come for a day ride on your horses. A modest camp is charged. It is collected through an honour system with envelopes at each site to be filled out and deposited in the steel boxes at each registration point. About 210 envelopes were collected in 2001 - showing that Spruce Woods Park is a popular spot for those who love riding the trails on their horses. In the winter the Park boasts an extensive system of cross country ski trails (to view the park website ski trail map, you will have to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. The snowmobile trails in Spruce Woods Park are considered among the most scenic in Manitoba. Winter fun for the whole family is rounded out by two toboggan hills and a winter recreation area featuring a lighted outdoor skating oval, a full size hockey rink, and jam pail curling.
