The lower campground is a "mud-caked" mosaic and will require a lot of clean-up.

Apparently poison ivy will eventually grow through anything....

Here's what poison ivy should look like at this time of year....

Crews have been working at the park for the past several weeks, and
while a lot has been accomplished, there is still a lot to do.  Following
are pictures of the park road and beach area.  These areas are the
hardest hit and have the most damage.

Looks good from a distance, but a lot of cleanup still needed.  The beach area
looks like a cobblestone driveway with mud "cakes" several inches thick
Take a look below:

Road closures & restrictions are everywhere:

This sign is on the path going down from the upper area to the day-use road.

This sign is on the campground road, coming from the east.
On April 17 we were able to drive down this road to the sand-bagged area.

Temporary office (on the right) and temporary interpretive centre (on the left)
are situated on the upper level of the campground.

Down the walking path to the lower campground area, compare this photo to
the one below that was  taken April 17th.   The water is much higher now.

Photo taken from the top of the toboggan hill at the winter area, compare to
the photo below taken a month earlier (Apr 17).  Water is much higher now.

The aerial photo below (courtesy of the Gazette) was taken the middle of May.
It shows the Interpretive Centre is an island, left of that the Fort looks wet, the footbridge
is totally under water, as is the beach.  Highway 5 is under water at the top of the picture.

The next 4 photos zoom in on the road into the Day Use area:

The next 4 photos were taken just as you come down the hill from the east on
the park road...dike on the park road ends at the road into the day use area.
You can see the height of the dike as compared to the person walking beside it.

Next photo taken from the toboggan hill in the Winter Area, shows the road
into the boat launch is completely under water:
