There was no new business arising from the minutes:

We welcomed members of the Heartland Rodeo Association and Team Roping to our meeting. They informed us about what is involved in hosting a rodeo event. Cindy is looking into whether there is any interest in the community to host this event. If anyone is interested in helping out please contact Cindy Skanderberg..

Treasurer’s report: Joan reported that the Chequing Account has a balance of $7,214.71. The Savings Account has a balance of $296.54. Joan had copies of the draft year end financial statements for our perusal. Please remember that the budgets are due. Please give them to Joan ASAP. Joan made a motion to adopt her report. It was seconded by Ernestine. Carried.

A thank you card was received from Wes and Viola Brown for the plant they received for their anniversary. Joan also thanked the board for the fruit basket she received when she was ill. Glenboro Greenbacks 2003: There are 11 business participants registered in the program this year. The promotion remains in effect from November 15th to and including December 24th, 2003. Many thanks to Westoba for their continued support of this program. An ad was placed in last weeks’ paper and Giselle Lussier wrote an article for insertion as well. More ads will follow in the weeks’ ahead. Greenbacks are an excellent way to support local merchants and to budget Christmas expenditures.

I attended a Community Economic Development meeting in Brandon on October 17th, 2003. A round table discussion was held among those in attendance including government staff and practitioners within the region. These gatherings are held semi-annually in Brandon.

The Parks Route met in regular session on October 20th, 2003 in McCreary. The following projects are currently being pursued:

1. a highway sign at the junction of #3 and #5 will soon be installed

2. Kathy Swann, Janna Watt and myself are working with IMG in Brandon to design a new brochure for the organization

3. the new website is to be up and running by the end of the year

4. a quote for small community signs for campgrounds, etc. has been requested

5. the possibility of meeting with the Minister of Highways at the AMM convention in Brandon was discussed

A Donor’s Choice presentation and meeting was held on October 27th, 2003 at Glenboro School. The purpose of this gathering was to discuss the possibility of coordinating a similar type of program for Glenboro and area. Community stakeholders were invited to attend. A follow up article was placed in the Glenboro paper and the group plans to meet again in the very near future. Those in attendance appeared quite supportive of the idea.

The Christmas Lighting contest will be held again this year. The judging of homes will take place on Sunday, December 14th, 2003 beginning at 7:00pm. Cash prizes and bragging rights will be awarded as follows: 1st place: $25.00 2nd place: $15.00 3rd place: $10.00

The 2PPCLI Trade and Information Fair takes place this week, November 19-20th, 2003 in Winnipeg at the Kapyong Barracks. The Glenboro CDC will be there with the community display as well as information on real estate, health, education, recreation and the like. With the impending move to Shilo in 2004 this will be an excellent way to promote the area and all we have to offer.

Museum Committee: Ernestine Sepke

We are still looking for a sign for above the door. We will ask Fred Brock if he will make one for us. We made $235.55 from our sales of ponukokers at the craft sale. We were sold out by 1:00pm. We would like to thank all those who made batters and worked. Thanks to Glenboro Meats and Glenboro Co-op for the donation of the trays to put them on and of course for all those who purchased them. Harry Lalonde is still looking for piano moving equipment and bodies to help move Donna Knight’s piano to the museum. Our charity information forms have been sent in for this year. We will be holding meat draws on January 16th and February 13, 2004. The bingo concession reported a profit of $37.57 for the month of October. Elsie said the other part of the bingo is doing well. We are going to put a float in the Santa Claus parade again this year. Ernestine will be having a craft table at the museum. We were not very successful this year with door admissions so we are going back to strictly donations.

Our New Executive for 2004 will be:

President Grace Olsen

Vice-President Carol Fulford

Secretary Adele Brock

Treasurer Fred Brock

Bingo Concession Ernestine Sepke

Grounds Maintenance Joy and Harry Lalonde

Building Maintenance

The museum is looking for new members. If you like antiques or some good old fashion fun please join us.

New Business: We are looking for a volunteer to be Sara in the parade. Please contact Darren if you are available. Cliff will talk to Ed Vertz about putting our float in the parade. Cliff thanked Ernestine for all of her hard work as president of the museum committee.

The date of the next meeting is Monday, December 15th, 2003 at 7:00pm.

A motion was made by Glen, seconded by Cindy that we adjourn. Carried.
