DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION Minutes of January 10th
2007 Present:
Curtis Wytinck, Chris Tanasichuk, Earl Malyon, Joan Fallis, and Ernestine

Curtis Wytinck called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. and welcomed Mr.
Wheeler. 2.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Earl/Joan Carried 3.
Mr. Bob Wheeler from MAFRI, Treherne office gave us an overview on what
is happening in the changes of the Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural
Initiatives Go-Team. Mr. Wheeler
presented information to let the GCDC know what his office is available to help
us with. 4.
Treasurers Report –
That the financial statement be accepted as presented.

Old Business 5.1
Town signs - Lighting is to be ordered for both signs. The second sign is to be
installed this summer, site yet to be determined. 5.2
Chris is filling out grant applications for the walking path. 5.3
A meeting will be set up with Bob Wheeler to go review the Round Table report
with the CDC and develop an Action Plan. 5.4
Annual General Meeting will be held on February 9th 2007 at the
Community Hall. Guest speaker will
be Hanna Taylor from the Ladybug Foundation. 6.
Correspondence.

Committee Reports
7.1 Properties –
Hall - The Hall committee met on Jan. 9th /07.
Bjorn Enterprises has been contacted to have wood floor polished up
before CDC AGM, Fr. Feb 9th /07.
Also will have Steve construct new vanity light valance for both men’s
& ladies washrooms. Moray will
make application for liquor permit for AGM. Turner
Jamieson & Kirby Wallis have been appointed temporary hall custodians until
Debbie Biles returns.
Minor items at hall, repaired plug-in & fixed the sodium yardlight at
back of hall. Hall
liability has not been resolved, further discussion is needed. A
“Pirates of the Caribbean” Social has been planned for Sat.
Feb. 24th with a band booked.
Costumes are optional; prizes & Door prizes will be awarded: Proceeds
towards paying off the table & Chairs.
Theatre: The Olafson
Brothers Foundation will be purchasing a new used projector and new screen and a
surround sound speaker system to enhance the theatre for the seniors of the
community and area. Chris will be
filling out grant applications for insulation and siding.
Camel Park & Signage: No report.

7.2 Museum –
No report
7.3 Business & Industry – Are having a
meeting next week.
7.4 Economic Development – The Judging
of the Christmas lights took place on the evening of Monday, December 11th,
2006. Thanks to the judges Fred & Fern Stevens & Harry & Bernice
Friesen. The winners were Loren and
Jan Nelson, Darrell and Charlene Godard, and Alison Davidson/Andrew Smith.
The 75th Anniversary of the International Peace Garden will
take place on July 14th, 2007. We
have been invited to set up an informational/tourism booth and the day is
completely filled worth shows and special events.
Plans for the Annual Meeting are falling into place and Hanna Taylor and
her family is very excited to be coming to Glenboro.
Hannah will also be making a presentation at the Glenboro School in the
afternoon. Ladybug scarves are for
sale at the Village Office, Westoba Credit Union and Wallis Agencies.

New Business
8.1 A letter is to be written to Council asking for approval to move the
Events Sign to a downtown location.
8.2
Bob wheeler will be helping with the Glenboro Agricultural Day.
Curtis will be the contact for any help the GCDC can provide.
8.3 Earl Malyon was appointed as the GCDC member to attend the Spruce
Lakes Recreation District Meetings. 9.
Date of the next Meeting will be Feb 21st 2007 at 7 pm at the
R.M. of South Cypress Municipal Office. 10.
