6.            Committee Reports

6.1            Properties:

Hall:   The Hall committee will be meeting very soon in regards to the deterioration of the roof.  Several shingles had blown off in recent windstorms, resulting in some water damage in the furnace room and in the bar area.  The shingles on the main hall area are in fair condition, but will need to be replaced soon, within a year.  The area of shingles on the west side (Lean to) needs immediate attention.  The R. M. has contacted the insurance company to see if there is coverage.  Shingles are estimated to be 14 years old.  May have to look at fundraiser/volunteer project & investigate grant applications.

The white rock has been leveled in the parking lot; this should help alleviate mud tracked into the hall.

Theatre:   Attendance was very low for the month of April and has picked up the last few weeks.  The upcoming June/July schedule is very good.

The theatre will receive up to $9000 from the Community Places Grant for the insulation and siding project.  This amount will probably only allow the attic, west and north walls to be completed this summer.  Final tenders are being forwarded to those who previously put in a quote.

Camel Park & Signage:   Received Hometown Manitoba grant for a picnic shelter to be built over one of the tables. The sign south of Carberry has fallen down and it will not be replaced.

Submitted by Moray Jamieson

6.2       Museum:    Dave Prost and Kelly Fulford have finished the display cabinet for downstairs.  The step for the north door has also been completed.  Our Friday hamburger/hotdog days will be starting at the end of June.  Watch for posters.  We are also selling raffle tickets.  The museum received funding for a student.    The members will be attending the AMM Conference in La Pas this year.
