Community Development Corporation Minutes
of June 4th /08 Held
at the Community Hall at 7:00 pm Present:

Meeting was
called to order at 7:00 pm. 2.
Approval of Minutes from April 30th /08.

4. Correspondence 4.1 A thank you card was received
from Juliette Vertz. 5. Old Business 5.1 Survey Results &
Newsletter - There were good comments on the survey and newsletter that went
into the paper. 5.2 Town signs - Curtis ordered
anchors for the wooden sign west of town. A
discussion was held on the possible placement of evergreen trees by the new town
sign. There will be a cleanup of
those signs that are getting run down. 5.3 Training Assistance -
Another EMT course is scheduled for September.
Chris will advertise the training assistance for anyone that may be
interested. 6. New Business 6.1 RCMP Musical ride - MC &
Guest of Honour - Curtis
graciously agreed to be the MC for the evening. Stan Oleson will be asked to be
the guest of honour. 6.2 Musical ride - work
committees - work committees are being established and others will be asked
where needed. 6.3 Office Relocation -
The Recreation District Committee has agreed to move the Economic Development
Office downtown. Earl made a motion
that the Glenboro Community Development Corporation will divide the rent with
the Recreation District. Joan
seconded Carried. 7. Committee
Reports 7.1 Properties: Hall:
Brian Sattler has been hired as the maintenance/janitorial person at the
hall. Theatre: Attendance is down a bit due
to the nicer weather. Overall it
has been a good winter. Camel Park & Signage:
Hubert Theroux will be arriving in town in the next few weeks to begin the work
of repairing and painting Sara. A grant was received from Hometown Manitoba in
the amount of $1000 and will help pay for this project. 7.2 Business and Industry: The committee met on May 14th and discussed the
survey results. The main concern
always seems to revolve back to a shortage of housing for families.
The committee is in the process of developing a short and long term work
plan. 7.3 Museum:
Kaylee Rutherford has been hired as the summer student for this year.
We received a Community Places grant for replacing all the windows, they
are on order. A grant has also been
submitted for tape recorders so we may put the information on tape for people to
listen to as they tour the museum.
