Glenboro Community Development Corporation

Minutes of December 15th, 2009

Held at the RM/Village Office

7:00 pm

 

Present:            Curtis Wytinck, Chris Tanasichuk, Ernestine Sepke, Earl Malyon, Wayne                                     Davidson, Moray Jamieson

 Regrets:            Penny Johnson,  

1.                  Meeting was called to order by Curtis at 7:00 pm.  

2.            Approval of Minutes from Nov 17th /09              Earl/Ernestine Carried 

3.            Approval of Treasurer's Report as presented.            Chris/Earl   Carried             

4.            Correspondence 

5.         Old Business 

5.1            Town Signs – Project on hold until the spring

5.2            Manitoba Homecoming 2010 – Lottery tickets were handed out. Curt is looking after moving the required dirt for the chuck wagon races.

5.3            Christmas Parade was excellent.  Everyone agreed that it was a good idea to have refreshments indoors. 

6.         New Business 

            6.1       Date set for annual meeting - Tuesday Feb 16th, 2010 – Glenboro Community Hall.  This will be a short meeting with refreshments being served.  The 2009 Resident of Distinction Award will be presented at the meeting also. 

            6.2            Memberships 2010 - will remain the same as last year and will be mailed             second week in January.                         

Committee Reports 

7.1             Properties:  

            Hall: Four more wooden tables have been purchased with a donation from the Agricultural Society.  A Diaper change station is being looked into for the washroom.  Community Places grant is being looked to assist in the replacement of the dance floor at the hall and perhaps adding on some type of storage facility so the extra tables and chairs do not have to remain in the coat room.

            Theatre: Attendance has been down November and December.  Work will begin on the washroom in the New Year. 

7.2            Business and Industry:  Curtis updated the committee on the last Railway meeting.  The Ho Ho Café should be open shortly before Christmas and Uptown Auto is hoping to be open by the middle of January. 

7.3            Museum – There are still History books to be picked up.  There are still a few extras left and may be purchased by calling Chris Tanasichuk or Ernestine Sepke. 

8.         Date of Next Meeting: Jan 19th, 2010 – 7 pm 

9.            Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.            Earl/Moray Carried
