Glenboro Community Development Corporation

Minutes of January 19^th, 2010

Held at the RM/Village Office

Present:            Ernestine Sepke, Earl Malyon, Wayne Davidson, Moray Jamieson, Penny Johnson

1.                  Meeting was called to order by Earl at 7:15 pm.  

2.            Approval of Minutes from December 15^th,2009              Wayne/Moray Carried 

3.            Approval of Treasurer's Report as presented.                    Chris/Moray               Carried             

4.            Correspondence

            4.1       Tiger Hills festival of the Arts 2010 – The GCDC will once again sponsor the Rose Bowl for the 2010 Festival which is to be held in Glenboro.                                          Penny/            Wayne              Carried

            4.2       Thank you - From Norm Stillcowski & Veronica Trowski thanking the Xmas Light committee for awarding them 1^st place.

            4.3        A letter was received regarding the condition of the Community Hall.

            4.4         MLCC – A letter was received outlining the new guidelines.

            4.5       Community Connections – The GCDC will receive funding once again this year to help with the costs of the Community Computer.

            4.6       MAFRI – Payment was received for the new sign which will be erected by Sara in the spring.

5.         Old Business 

5.1            Town Signs – Spring project

5.2            Annual General Meeting - Feb 16^th, 2010 - 7:30 pm at the Community Hall

6.         New Business 

            6.1       Community Places Grant – The GCDC will be applying for a grant to help with the costs of purchasing a storage unit for the Hall and to replace the dance floor.

            6.2       Hometown Manitoba Grant – A grant application will be submitted a sign to represent all of the Churches in Glenboro.

            6.3       Resident of Distinction 2009 – The committee reviewed all of the nominations and voted on a winner which will be announced at the Annual General Meeting. 

7.            Committee Reports 

7.1             Properties:             

            Hall Committee has not met.

Theatre –Cullen Construction has begun the washroom renovation project.

7.2            Business and Industry:   Has not met.

7.3            Museum - 2010 marks the 10^th anniversary of the Museum.  A celebration will be held in conjunction with the Homecoming.  The committee has volunteered to take registrations the weekend of the Homecoming.

8.         Date of Next Meeting:

February 16^th, 2010 – AGM – 7:30 pm – Hall

March 16^th, 2010 – 7:00 pm

9.            Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 8:35 pm.      Moray/Wayne            Carried
