Executive Meeting

Minutes of Sept 28th, 2010

Held at the Glenboro Community Hall  

Present:            Curtis Wytinck, Ernestine Sepke, Earl Malyon, Wayne Davidson, Chris Tanasichuk, Penny Johnson 

Regrets:            Moray Jamieson,  

Guest:               Ken Fingler – HED Insurance 

1.                  Meeting was called to order by Curtis at 7:00 pm.   

2.                  Ken Fingler made a presentation on Liability Insurance on Public buildings and how it pertains to the Glenboro Hall.  Some changes will have to be discussed. 

3.            Approval of Minutes from Tuesday, May 18th, 2010.      Earl/Wayne             Carried 

4.            Approval of Treasurer's Report as presented.                    Chris/Wayne               Carried             

5.            Correspondence

            5.1       Kaylee Rutherford sent a thank you for helping finance her trip to Australia.

            5.2       Glenboro United Church: Welcome baskets are being looked after.

            5.3       Thank you – StellaMae & John Vertz for anniversary flowers.

            5.4       Curt Wytinck – Curt has resigned as the Chairperson for the GCDC and has taken the Chair position for the Hall Committee.   

6.         Old Business 

6.1            Town Signs – A thank you goes to Lorne Nelson for putting up the Glenboro Sign on the east side of Glenboro.  It was brought to our attention that the maintenance at the camel could be done by a small group of people.  Perhaps one groups per spring/summer month.  It is still being discussed.

6.2            Housing – The Village of Glenboro  will be purchasing land to develop new housing lots.

            6.3       Age Friendly Manitoba – The committee has met once and is looking into implementing a few suggestions for spring. 

 

7.         New Business           

            7.1       The GCDC is in need of a new Chairperson.  Any interested parties should submit their name to the GCDC office at 827-2575 or email gcdc@glenboro.com

 

8.            Committee Reports 

8.1             Properties:             

Hall – There will be a meeting to discuss insurance information and other issues. 

Theatre –Hoping to do extra fundraising with the Grease sing-a-long movie on Nov 4th with a meal and bar at the hall.  Then back to the theatre for costume judging at 7:30. 

8.2            Business and Industry – Have not met

8.3            Museum – Had a great summer.  There were a lot of visitors and lots of fun on the July long weekend.  Hamburger days also went great over the summer months. 

8.4            Manitoba homecoming 2010 –It was a successful event and again the GCDC would like to thank the Councils for covering part of the loss on the Lottery. 

9.         Date of Next Meeting: (After Elections) November 16th, 2010 – 7pm
