at the GCDC Office (Old Fire Hall) Present:

Meeting was called to order by Earl at 7:00 pm. 2.

Correspondence
4.1
Rick & Sharon Hamilton re: Community Christmas dinner. A donation was
given in the amount of $85.00
4.2
Glenboro Curling Club re: sign space rental.
The GCDC will renew their sign rental at a cost of $50.00.
4.3 Minister of Agriculture re: 2010 Hometown
Manitoba Grant. The “Churches of
Glenboro” sign has been erected in the flower bed at Broadway and hwy. #2 and
the grant money has been received.
4.4 Glenboro Area Foundation re: Appreciated
Dinner. Members of the GCDC would be attending.
4.5 Thank you cards for Anniversary Plants: Jack
& Eleanor Hamilton, Ivan & Gwen Jefferies and Ken & Shirley Dowd.
4.6 Thank you Postcard from the University of
Calgary for our contribution to their Roadside Attraction Project.
4.7 Letter to the Village & RM Councils requesting increase in funding for
2011 to offset Hall costs. – Increases were approved.
4.8 Letter to Bjorn Enterprises re office
space. 5.
Old Business 5.1
Town Signs – will look into some relocating in the spring. 5.2
Housing – ongoing project for the Village of Glenboro.
Four lots have become available to the west of Lyall Park Place.
5.3 Age Friendly Manitoba –The committee
feels the Age Friendly money would best be used by putting together an
information pamphlet on all services in Glenboro and perhaps locating two
benches in areas that do not currently have one.
5.4 Caboose – Ongoing 6.
New Business
6.1
Christmas lighting contest- Winners - Lisa & Chuck Radcliff.
Due to the excellent decorating done by all residents, it was decided
that this contest has run its course and will be discontinued.
6.2 Christmas parade Costs – A discussion was
held on the overall cost of the parade. A
letter will be written to the UCT with suggestions of changes.
6.3 Public Washrooms – A meeting will be set
up with a Farmers Market representative to discuss current health issues and
long term planning.
6.4 Resident of Distinction 2010 – A winner
was chosen and will be honoured at our Annual General Meeting.

6.5 2011 Memberships & Annual Meeting – The annual letter and membership invoice was
approved by the committee. They
will be mailed out by the end of January. Ideas
were discussed for the AGM.
6.6 Spirit Sands Casino Project
- Chris gave an update on any
information that was presented at a meeting that had been held in Carberry.
6.7 The GCDC will once again sponsor the Rose
Bowl ($100) for the Tiger Hills Festival of the Arts which will be held in
Baldur this spring.

6.8 GCDC Donations – A general discussion was
held on annual donations.
6.9 SWRRT Workshop – Chris will be attending.
6.10 AED Main Registry Form – The Heart &
Stroke Foundation is putting together a central registry for all AED machines in
the province. Chris will obtain the
information to pass onto them.
6.11 CWLP interest: The GCDC will use the interest from the CWLP to offset
operating costs. This will be
retroactive for November 01, 2011 and transferred to the operating account every
six months.

Committee
Reports 7.1
Properties:
Hall
– The Hall Committee will proceed with the Hall storage project. Theatre – Profits from the Grease Musical
purchased a panic bar for the main entrance door. A Community Places Grant was submitted to reshingle the
west side of the roof. 7.2
Business and Industry – No report 7.3
Museum – Foundation grant is still pending for chairs and tables
for our hamburger days. A new used fridge will be purchased in the spring. We
purchased a used BBQ and some kitchen supplies.
This year we will be rearranging some of our artifacts and
de-accessioning some as we are getting too many of the same items donated and we
must keep to our mandate. We will
be operating the canteen once again
for the Annual Curling Bonspiel. 8.
