Resident of Distinction Award

The Glenboro Community Development Corporation will be sponsoring the fourth annual Resident of Distinction award.  Residents of Glenboro and area all qualify for this award.  Nominations will be taken from the public until Dec. 31, 2008 and the recipient will be announced  at the GCDC annual meeting on January 28, 2009.

There are no set criteria for someone to be eligible for nomination.  Anyone that an individual or community group feels has made a significant contribution to the community this year or in previous years is eligible to be nominated.  The Development Corporation just wants to know why you think they should be nominated .  Also remember if you have nominated someone in the past and wish to have this nomination reactivated please give Chris a call as she has all previous nominees on file.

1.  HALL BOOKINGS:
Effective November 1st, 2008, Sandra Hamilton will no longer be taking Glenboro Hall bookings.  We thank Sandra for the many years of donated time. As of November 1st, 2008, hall bookings will now be done through the Economic Development Office located at 101 Broadway St., Glenboro.  Monday to Friday, 9am to 4:30 pm.  Phone Chris at 827-2575.  Please leave a detailed message.

2.  CELL PHONE SERVICE COMPLAINTS:
The Glenboro Community Development Corporation would like to remind you that if you are having trouble with your MTS cell phone service, phone 225-5687.  This is an automated answering service.  Choose the “wireless” option and then press “0”; you will be put through to an actual person.  If no complaints are received, they assume everything is working fine.
