Glenboro's 125th Anniversary Celebration

July 1st to 3rd, 2005

Thursday, June 30th

·        Gymkana at Fairgrounds. Registration 5:00 p.m. Event begins at 6:30 p.m.

 

Friday, July 1st

·        Glenboro Agricultural Society Fair (Fairgrounds): Pancake breakfast and canteen open during the day. Roast beef supper catered by Spruce Woods Inn at 5:30 p.m. Glenboro's 125th Anniversary Official Welcome to follow in the Hall.

·        Registration at the Burrough of the Gleann Museum (237 Broadway St.)

     10:00 am to 5:00 pm. All residents and visitors are encouraged to register.

·        Glenboro History Book sales and celebration at the Burrough of the Gleann Museum. 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. all three days.

·        Service Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of St. Stephen's Anglican Church      7:30 p.m. Refreshments to follow (201 Broadway Street)

·        Fireworks at dark (Glenboro School grounds). Sponsored by: Pembina Co-op, Westoba Credit Union, Glenboro Consumer's Co-op, Glenboro Rovers, Glenboro Nordics and Glenboro CDC. Organized by Glenboro/South Cypress Fire Dept.  

·        BINGO tonight (Friday, July 1st)

 

Saturday, July 2nd

·        Breakfast available at the Motel and Hotel.

·        Registration at the Museum 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. All residents and visitors are encouraged to register. Hot dogs and hamburgers available following the parade from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m.

·        Parade 10:30 a.m. Organized by Glenboro UCT. Gather at School Grounds at   9:30 a.m.

·        Vintage Vehicle Display. Sponsored by RBC Royal Bank.                             Location: Railway Avenue. Time: Following the parade until 5:00 p.m.

·        Glenboro Canucks Reunion at S.A. Oleson Field 1:00 p.m. (Fairgrounds)                                    Beer gardens organized by GCDC Hall Committee and Glenboro Curling Club.

·        Health Auxiliary Tea to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Glenboro Hospital  (2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Glenboro Personal Care Home).  Glenboro Health District staff will be conducting tours of the Health Facility in conjunction with the Health Auxiliary Tea.  

·        Spirit Sands Rodeo 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Fairgrounds. Beer gardens and food available. Organized by Rodeo Committee.

·        Social at Kinsmen Hall 9:00 p.m. Organized by GCDC Hall Committee, Glenboro Curling Club and supported by Wallis Agencies.  Food available for purchase at the social (Glenboro Nursery School Committee).

 

Sunday, July 3rd

·         Breakfast available at the Motel and Hotel.

·        Interdenominational Church Service at Glenboro School 10:30 a.m.

·        Spirit Sands Rodeo 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Fairgrounds. Beer gardens and food available (Rodeo Committee).

·        Tunes from the Past! An afternoon of music at Glenboro School. 2:00 p.m.

·        Rain date for Fireworks
