Minutes of the seventh regular meeting of the 2001/2002
Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress held in the Municipal Council
Chambers at 618 Railway Ave., Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at
9:00 a.m.
Present at the Meeting, Reeve Earl E. Malyon, Councillors
Leonard J. Berry, John S. Hamilton, James B. Clark and Chief Administrative
Officer, Eric Plaetinck.
Reeve Earl E. Malyon, in the chair, called the meeting to
order at 9:10 a.m.
During the meeting, at the time indicated, Council met with

Council held on Tuesday April 9, 2002 be taken as read and approved, all
statutory requirements having been fulfilled.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress accept and approve the Audited Financial
Statement/Supplementary Audit Report of The Rural Municipality of South
Cypress, for Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2001, as prepared and submitted
by the Chartered Accounting firm of BDO Dunwoody LLP, of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

RESOLVED that the Council of The Rural Municipality of
South Cypress authorize the payment of fiscal year 2002 accounts from cheque
#457 to and including cheque #516, as submitted to Council by the Chief
Administrative Officer.

During the second and third reading of By-law #1765, Chief Administrative
Officer Eric Plaetinck, summarized that the Municipality’s budget and
associated tax levy by-law for fiscal year 2002 resulted in a Municipal levy of
14.43, which subsequent to assessment adjustment will represent a marginal
increase of only 1.4% in this year’s Municipal property taxes. This is the
first increase in the Municipal mill rate since 1999.

South Cypress authorize the spending of $18,866.79 out of the Machinery
& Equipment Replacement Reserve, established under By-law #1107, for the
purchase of a 1999 Ford F150 Surpercab ½ ton pickup truck.

South Cypress designate and name the Municipal Road as indicated on the
attached map and marked as Appendix "C", as follows:

AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Municipality purchase
and install road signs, so named, where said road intersects with the town
line road and P. R. #530.

South Cypress sponsor the Glenboro U.C.T. Bike Rodeo and thereby authorize a
grant in the amount $20.00 for the purchase of bicycle helmet.

in its staging of their fair which is to be held on July 13th

2000 services proposal.
