Minutes of the ninth regular meeting of the 2002/2003 Council
of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress held in the Municipal Council
Chambers at 618 Railway Ave., Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at
9:00 a.m.
Present at the Meeting, Reeve Earl E. Malyon, Councillors
Leonard J. Berry, John S. Hamilton, Lloyd E. Coates, W. Jack Mooney, Walter R.
Cullen and Municipal Administrator, Eric C. Plaetinck.
Reeve Earl E. Malyon, in the chair, called the meeting to
order at 9:00 a.m.
During the meeting, at the time indicated, Council met with
the following delegations.

RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of
Council held on Tuesday June 10, 2003 be taken as read and approved, all
statutory requirements having been fulfilled.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress authorize the payment of fiscal year 2003 accounts from cheque
#1277 to and including cheque #1344, as submitted to Council by the Chief
Administrative Officer.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress authorize the purchase of approximately 140 – 20 kg bags of
Eco Bran Grasshopper Bait, this summer, from Shur-Gro Farm Services Ltd. of
Wawanesa, Manitoba at a cost of $71.00 per bag.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress authorize/ratify the Glenboro-South Cypress Weed Control
District to apply Eco Bran Grasshopper Bait onto designated Municipal
ditches/road allowances, this summer.
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that if time does not permit
the said Weed Control District to complete all necessary Grasshopper Bait
spreading, authorization be then given to contract the services of Shur-Gro
Farm Services Ltd. of Wawanesa, Manitoba to continue with the necessary
applications.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress apply the "Ratepayer Rates" for any custom work done
with Municipal men and equipment, for the Tiger Hills Conservation District,
in the Rural Municipality of South Cypress.

WHEREAS "Agriculture in the Classroom–Manitoba
Inc." is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering
curriculum-based programs to Manitoba Schools to help teach the importance
of agriculture in our Province.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
Rural Municipality of South Cypress support "Agriculture in the
Classroom–Manitoba Inc." by becoming a member of the said
organization at the supporter Level of $150.00 for the year 2003.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress approve a payment of $12,000.00 to the Glenboro–South
Cypress Weed Control District as an advance for custom spraying of weeds on
Municipal roads, which is being carried out this summer.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress accept "An Offer to Purchase" from Rosalind Kelly of
Stockton, Manitoba for the sale of the North half of Lots 9 & 10; Block
1, Plan 388 in the Hamlet of Stockton, for and at the offered price of
$20.00 plus all legal and transfer fees.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress authorize Accounting/Administrative Clerk, Maureena McPhail to
register in the MMAA Certificate Program "Municipal
Administration" (Course #98238) as offered by The University of
Manitoba during the 2003/2004 education year.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of
South Cypress do now adjourn @ 2:20 p.m., to convene again at the next
regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at 9:00 a.m.
