Minutes of the eleventh regular meeting of the 2002/2003 Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress held in the Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Ave., Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. Present at the meeting, Reeve Earl E. Malyon, Councillors Leonard J. Berry, John S. Hamilton, Lloyd E. Coates, W. Jack Mooney, Walter R. Cullen, and Chief Administrative Officer, Eric Plaetinck. Reeve Earl E. Malyon, in the chair, called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. During the meeting, at the time indicated, Council met with the following delegations. Edwin Berry } Municipal Equipment Operators } Monthly Work Progress Report & - 10:00 a.m. Allan Bartram } Upcoming Month Work Schedule Walter Bradley } Municipal Road Gravel Crushing - 10:45 a.m. David W. #6867 L. J. Berry L. E. Coates RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday August 12, 2003 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been fulfilled. "carried" RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress authorize the payment of fiscal year 2003 accounts from cheque #1399 to and including cheque #1444, as submitted to Council by the Chief Administrative Officer. "carried"
#6869 L. E. Coates W. R. Cullen RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress authorize the rental of a 1996 John Deere 7600 2WD Tractor from Nunns Equipment Ltd. of Treherne, Manitoba, for approximately 200 hours of use during the 2003 Municipal grass-mowing season. "carried"
#6870 L. E. Coates W. J. Mooney RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress contract the services of Zenith Paving Ltd. of Brandon, Manitoba to crush and stockpile 20,000 cubic yards of road gravel at the Craig Bell gravel pit (SW Ό 10-8-16W) AND FURTHER RESOLVED that the crushing of the said 20,000 cubic yards of gravel be undertaken this fall, or as soon as possible thereafter, at the contractors choice/convenience, and accordingly billing and payment of same be deferred to July 1, 2004. "carried"

Mooney RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress designate the name "Millshof Road" to the 3 miles of Municipal Road indicated in red ink on the attached map, marked as Appendix "M"; AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Municipality purchase and install a road sign, so named, where said road intersects with P.T.H #2. "carried"
#6872 L. E. Coates W. R. Cullen RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress recognizes the forthcoming Glenboro Lady Sahara Bonspiel on November 7 - 9, 2003 as a community event and thereby authorizes the Glenboro Curling Club to make application to the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission for permission to operate under one of South Cypress 2003 Community permits. "carried"
#6873 J. S. Hamilton L. J. Berry RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress authorize all Council Members and Equipment Operators to attend an Equipment Expo, hosted by Brandt Tractor Ltd. in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Friday September 19, 2003. "carried"
#6874 W. J. Mooney W. R. Cullen RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress authorize Councillor John S. Hamilton to attend the 2003 Provincial Recreation Conference for Community Volunteers, which will be held in Brandon, Manitoba on November 7 9, 2003. "carried"
#6875 J. S. Hamilton L. J. Berry RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress authorize all Council Members, so able to attend, and the Municipal Administrator to partake in the A.M.M. Education Seminar entitled "Labour & Employee Relations Management" and "Strategic Planning: Role of Council", which will be held in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on Friday, October 10, 2003. "carried"
#6876 J. S. Hamilton L. J. Berry RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress authorize the renovation of the Municipal Office bathrooms consisting of installing two new 18" x 24" vanities c/w marble tops and new bathroom faucets, at a cost of up to $900.00 plus applicable taxes. "carried"
#6877 L. E. Coates W. J. Mooney RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress do now adjourn @ 12.10 p.m., to convene again at the next regular Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. "carried" |
