Minutes of the eighth regular meeting of the 2007/2008 Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress held in the Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Ave., Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. Present at the Meeting, Reeve Earl
E. Malyon, Councillors Leonard J. Berry, John S. Hamilton, Lloyd E. Coates,
Leonard K. Plett, Walter R. Cullen, and Chief Administrative Officer, Eric
Plaetinck. Reeve Earl E. Malyon, presiding, called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. During the meeting, at the time indicated, Council met with the following delegations: Ed Berry } Municipal Equipment Operators Allan Bartram } Monthly Work Progress and Paul Wilton } Upcoming Months Work Schedule John McEntee } Various Planning Matters. RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday May 13, 2008 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been fulfilled. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress authorize the payment of fiscal year 2008 accounts from cheque #5301 to and including cheque #5406, as submitted to Council by the Municipal Administrator. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress award a Municipal Grant in the amount of $358.00 in favour of the Cypress River Community Club, under the Community Maintenance and Promotion Program, to support them with their purchase/placement of flowers and scrubs in the Village and the purchase and installation of a gate and a sign at the community playground. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress authorize Councillor Leonard K. Plett to attend the 2008 Manitoba Planning conference being held in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 13 – 16, 2008. “carried” WHEREAS the communities of Baldur, Glenboro, and Wawanesa realize the difficulties facing the Ambulance services; AND WHEREAS there is a present volunteer shortage to operate this service; AND WHEREAS the time commitment to gain the training and man this community service is limiting volunteer commitment; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Communities of Baldur, Glenboro and Wawanesa agree in principal to enter into discussions to operate a centrally based Ambulance Service with paid personnel assisted by local volunteers to service our communities. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress appoint Reeve Earl E. Malyon to represent the Rural Municipality of South Cypress on the Baldur, Glenboro, and Wawanesa Group Ambulance Committee. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress award an academic scholarship, in the amount of $ 200.00 for the most deserving year 2008 graduating class student from the Glenboro School who enters Post Secondary Education in Agriculture or Human Ecology or enters a recognized Community College, and also award an academic scholarship, in the amount of $200.00 for the most deserving year 2008 graduating class student from the Wawanesa School who enters Post Secondary Education in Agriculture or Human Ecology or enters a recognized Community College. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural
Municipality of South Cypress conduct it’s “Board of Revision” for the
2009 Assessment Roll, on Tuesday October 21st, 2008 commencing at
10:00 a.m. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural
Municipality of South Cypress authorize CAO, Eric Plaetinck to attend the IGA/AMM
PSAB implementation 2008 training session being held in Brandon, Manitoba on
Tuesday July 29, 2008. “carried”
RESOLVED that the Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress do now adjourn @ 11:55 a.m. to convene again at the next regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. “carried”
