Minutes of the sixth regular meeting of the 2005/2006 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Present at the meeting: Mayor William R. Shackel, Councillors Gerald R. Greenlay, Betty A. Christie, Robert G. Jewsbury, Chief Administrative Officer Eric C. Plaetinck and Assistant CAO Darren J. Myers.
Mayor
William R. Shackel, presiding, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
During
the meeting, at the time noted, Council met with the following persons:

B. Christie – B. Jewsbury RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday, March 14th, 2006 and minutes of a special meeting held on April 4th, 2006 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been fulfilled.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give first reading to By-Law #694
(vis-à-vis the Creation of a Gas Tax Reserve Fund). “carried” #2006-067 B. Jewsbury – B. Christie RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize all Council Members to
attend the Assiniboine RHA Community Stakeholders meeting being held in Glenboro
on Thursday May 4th, 2006.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro, in accordance with Village Zoning
By-Law, permit the dwelling located on Lots 6/7; Block 14; Plan 460 (307
Broadway Avenue in Glenboro, Manitoba) to be used as a secondary residence with
the incidental use of a “Home Occupation” hair dressing shop.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept an “Offer to Purchase”
from Allan Dowd of Glenboro, Manitoba for the property legally described as Part
Lot 15/18; Block 6; Plan 45 (70’ x 104’) in the Village of Glenboro. Condition
of the sale be that the said property be developed as per applicants’ plans,

At a
Public Hearing held at 8:00 p.m. in regard to the Village of Glenboro’s 2006
Financial Plan, there was no representation made by the Public. #2006-070

that Council adopt the Financial Plan of the Village of Glenboro for Fiscal Year
2006 and the proposed Capital Expenditures for the Village of Glenboro for the
Years 2007 to and including 2011, as presented at today’s’ public hearing, a
copy of which is attached hereto and marked as Schedule “A.”

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give first reading to By-Law #693
(vis-à-vis the School and Municipal Tax Levy for fiscal year 2006).

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the student employment of
Cole Plaetinck of Glenboro, Manitoba as “Assistant Utility Man/Groundskeeper
for the Village of Glenboro and the Glenboro Cemetery for the seasonal
employment term of May 1, 2006 to August 18th, 2006 at a 40 hour work
week.

of fiscal year 2006 accounts from Cheque #943 to and including Cheque #991
amounting to a total of $74,974.93 as fully detailed to Council by the Assistant
Chief Administrative Officer.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize Chief Administrative
Officer Eric Plaetinck to attend the 75th Annual Conference of the
Manitoba Municipal Administrators Association Inc. being held in Winnipeg,
Manitoba on May 1 – 3, 2006.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 9:58 p.m. to
convene again at the next regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday May 9, 2006 at
7:00 p.m.
