Minutes of the tenth regular meeting of the 2005/2006 Council of the Village of 
Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue 
Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.

 Present at the meeting: Mayor William R. Shackel, Councillors Loren H. Nelson, 
Betty A. Christie, Gerald R. Greenlay, Robert G. Jewsbury and Chief Administrative 
Officer Eric C. Plaetinck. 

Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.          

#2006-110              B. Jewsbury – B. Christie 

RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held 
on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 be taken as read and approved, all statutory 
requirements having been fulfilled.

#2006–111      L. Nelson – G. Greenlay                                                

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro contract the 
services of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress to supply and deliver 
approximately 200 cubic yards of crushed gravel onto the Glen-Town Road 
West, at a total cost of $6.30 per cubic yard (gravel and haulage costs included).

#2006-112            B. Christie – G. Greenlay 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro endorse the actions 
of the Glenboro Wastes Disposal Management Committee as detailed in 
their July 17^th, 2006 meeting minutes.

#2006–113      B. Jewsbury – B. Christie 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro, jointly with the 
Council of the Rural Municipality of South Cypress, purchase a new 
(single use) 8’ X 9’ X 20’ long steel storage container from ADM Building 
Services of Winnipeg, Manitoba at a cost of up to $4,200.00 plus applicable taxes.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro hold its’ 2006 
Tax Sale on Wednesday December 13^th, 2006 commencing at 2:00 p.m.

#2006-115            B. Shackel – G. Greenlay 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro set the following 
wages/rates for the services provided by duly appointed election officials
in conjunction with the 2006 Municipal Election: 

Assistant Senior Election Official      - $   12.00 per hour

Enumerator                                      - $   .50 cents/name on the voters list

Revising Officer                                - $ 100.00 flat fee

Voting/Election Officials                   - $   10.00 per hour

 Plus all “out of pocket” expenses plus mileage at the rate of $.80 per 
kilometre which is incurred by the election official while carrying out 
the responsibilities and duties of the said position.

#2006–116      L. Nelson – B. Jewsbury 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the 
payment of fiscal year 2006 accounts from Cheque #1149 to and including 
Cheque #1183 and Cheque #1185 to and including Cheque #1189 amounting 
to a total of $23,921.57 as fully detailed to Council by the CAO.

Prior to the presentation of resolution #2006-117 and the associated subject, 
Councillor Loren Nelson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew 
from Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution.

#2006-117            B. Christie – B. Jewsbury 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the 
payment of fiscal year 2006 account/cheque #1184 in the amount of $665.64, 
as submitted to Council by the C.A.O.

#2006-118      G. Greenlay – B. Shackel  

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro do now adjourn 
at 9:25 p.m. to convene again at the next regular meeting scheduled for 
Tuesday September 12, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
