Minutes of the ninth regular meeting of the 2005/2006 Council of the Village of Glenboro 
held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba 
on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.

Present at the meeting: Mayor William R. Shackel, Councillors Loren H. Nelson, 
Gerald R. Greenlay, Robert G. Jewsbury, Chief Administrative Officer Eric C. Plaetinck 
and Assistant CAO Darren J. Myers. 

 Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

#2006-100              G. Greenlay – B. Jewsbury

 RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on 
Tuesday, June 13, 2006 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements 
having been fulfilled.

#2006-102            G. Greenlay – L. Nelson 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro contract the services 
of Fisher Backhoe of Glenboro, Manitoba to supply, haul and spread 
approximately 300 cubic yards of shale onto the 660 ft. length of road top 
of the newly constructed Glen-Town road, west of Lyall Street, at and for 
the quoted price of $5.50 per cubic yard plus G.S.T.

#2006–103      B. Jewsbury – L. Nelson 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept the tender 
submitted by Gordon Jefferies of Glenboro for the cutting and removal of 
approximately 10 acres of hay around the Glenboro lagoon located on part 
of the NW ¼ of Section 10; Township 7; Range 14W, for the 2006 harvest 
season.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro confirm a reservation 
with Place Louis Riel All Suite Hotel of Winnipeg, Manitoba for a total of 
6 studio suites, which will be required by Council Members and the Assistant 
CAO in conjunction with their attendance of the A.M.M. Annual Convention 
to be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 26 – 30, 2006.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept and approve 
the audited financial statement and supplementary audit report for the 
Village of Glenboro for fiscal year ending December 31, 2005 as prepared 
and submitted by the chartered accounting firm of BDO Dunwoody of 
Winnipeg, Manitoba.

#2006–106      G. Greenlay – L. Nelson 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the 
payment of fiscal year 2006 accounts from Cheque #1084 to and including 
Cheque #1134 and Cheque #1136 to and including Cheque #1148 amounting 
to a total of $41,597.51 as fully detailed to Council by the Assistant CAO.

Prior to the presentation of resolution #2006-107 and the associated subject, 
Councillor Loren Nelson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew 
from Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the 
payment of fiscal year 2006 account/cheque #1135 in the amount of $692.20, 
as submitted to Council by the Assistant C.A.O.

#2006-108            B. Jewsbury – G. Greenlay 

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept the June 15, 
2006 auditing services proposal submitted by BDO Dunwoody of Winnipeg, 
Manitoba and accordingly reappoint the said chartered accounting firm as 
the official auditor for the Village of Glenboro for the fiscal years 2006, 2007 
and 2008 at the fees specified in their June 15, 2006 services proposal.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 
9:05 p.m. to convene again at the next regular meeting scheduled for 
Tuesday August 8, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
