Minutes of the seventh regular meeting of the 2005/2006 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.

  

Present at the meeting: Mayor William R. Shackel, Councillors Gerald R. Greenlay, Betty A. Christie, Loren H. Nelson, Robert G. Jewsbury, Chief Administrative Officer Eric C. Plaetinck and Assistant CAO Darren J. Myers. 

             

Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

          

During the meeting, at the time noted, Council met with the following persons:

 #2006-077              G. Greenlay – B. Shackel

 RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been fulfilled.

#2006–078      G. Greenlay – L. Nelson

                                           

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give second and third reading to By-Law #693 (vis-à-vis the School and Village Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2006) and that it be signed by the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer, sealed and delivered.

#2006-079            B. Jewsbury – B. Christie

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give second and third reading to By-Law #694 (vis-à-vis the establishment of a Gas Tax Reserve Fund) and that it be signed by the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer, sealed and delivered.

#2006-080            L. Nelson – G. Greenlay

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro contract the services of Zenith Paving Ltd. of Brandon, Manitoba to provide the necessary asphalt patching in the Village of Glenboro during the summer of 2006, as per rates and conditions as specified in their quote of April 17, 2006.

#2006–081      B. Christie – B. Jewsbury

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro contract the services of Fort Distributors of Winnipeg, Manitoba for the supply and application, in the summer of 2006, of approximately 20,000 litres of magnesium chloride (dust control) onto Glen-Town Road, South Railway Avenue, Road 81W West of Fairgrounds and other required streets and lanes in the Village of Glenboro, at the quoted rate of $.24 cents per litre.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize Mayor William Shackel or Chief Administrative Officer Eric Plaetinck to attend the Manitoba Highway Traffic Board Hearing, being held in Brandon, Manitoba on Thursday May 25, 2006, regarding the Village’s application for the construction of the westerly extension of Glen-Town Road.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                “carried”

 RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro support the amalgamation of the Mid-Assiniboine River and the Tiger Hills Conservation Districts.

#2006-084            B. Christie – B. Jewsbury

 RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year 2006 accounts from cheque #992 to cheque #1015 and cheque #1017 to and including cheque #1030 amounting to a total of $25,617.06, as fully detailed to Council by the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer.
