Minutes
of the second regular meeting of the 2007/2008 Council of the Village of
Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue
Glenboro, Manitoba on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Present
at the meeting: Mayor William R. Shackel, Councillors Robert J. Gudnason, Loren
H. Nelson, Steve R. Bjornson, Chief Administrative Officer Eric C. Plaetinck and
Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Darren J. Myers. Mayor
William R. Shackel, presiding, called the meeting to order at 7:17 p.m. During
the meeting, at the time indicated, Council met with the following delegation: Corp.

R.C.M.P. Detachment Staff Sgt. Mike Zens } Blue Hills R.C.M.P. RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been fulfilled.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give second and third reading to
By-Law #703 (Cancellation of taxes and or monies owing to the Village of
Glenboro).

RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give second and third reading to
By-Law #704 (Compensation/Remunerations/Indemnities payable to the 2008 Council
Members).

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give first reading to By-Law #705
(Borrowing/Overdraft Authorization at Westoba Credit Union Ltd., Glenboro
Branch).
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro forward a request to the Highway
Traffic Board to establish a speed zone on Provincial Trunk Highway #2 adjacent
to the Village of Glenboro.
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro officially appoint Armand Vallotton
as Equipment Operator and Maintenance Foreman for the Village of Glenboro for
the year 2008 as per terms and conditions to be specified in his 2008 employment
agreement.

that Emergency Response Coordinator Garth McIntyre be authorized to attend an
Emergency Coordinator Worksop in Brandon, Manitoba on January 25, 2008.
“carried” WHEREAS
in accordance with Section 163 of the Municipal Act the Council of the Village
of Glenboro has made an Interim Operating Budget for all the expenditures of the
Village for the period January 1, 2008 until the adoption of the Annual
Estimates; NOW
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Provisional Estimates as set out in Schedule
“A” be hereby approved by the Council of the Village of Glenboro.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro award a grant in the amount of
$63.30 to Manitoba Crime Stoppers to assist in offsetting the costs associated
with the community based policing program.
“carried” RESOLVED
that Cindy Pringle of Glenboro, Manitoba be appointed to the Glenboro Area
Foundation Board for the term December 10, 2007 to November 12, 2008.
“carried” Prior
to the presentation of resolution #2007-173 and the associated subject,
Councillor Loren Nelson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from
the Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution. RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year
2007 accounts from cheque #1932 to and including cheque #1968 amounting to a
total of $103,920.19 as fully detailed to Council by the Assistant Chief
Administrative Officer.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 10:04 p.m. to
convene again at the next regular meeting scheduled for Monday, January 14, 2008
at 7:00 p.m.
