Minutes of the fifth regular meeting of the 2006/2007 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, March 13th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Present at the meeting: Mayor William R. Shackel, Councillors Loren H. Nelson, Robert G. Jewsbury, Steve R. Bjornson, Chief Administrative Officer Eric C. Plaetinck and Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Darren J. Myers. Regrets: Robert J. Gudnason
Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding,
called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. During the meeting, at the time

p.m. RESOLVED
that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday,
February 13, 2007 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements
having been fulfilled.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village
of Glenboro give first reading to By-Law #700 (Vis-à-Vis Waste Management –
Scavenging within the Village of Glenboro). “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro contract the services of Zenith Paving Ltd. of Brandon, Manitoba for street patching within the Village of Glenboro for the summer of 2007. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village
of Glenboro apply to the Canada Summer Jobs Program for funding to hire a
student for the summer of 2007. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept the student employment application submitted by Greg Beckwith for the position of Manager of the Glenboro Youth Job Centre, subject to the terms and conditions specified in the 2007 employment contract. “carried” RESOLVED that the plan of Subdivision of Land described as follows; Being part of Lots 1 and 2; Plan 2118 and Block 1; Plan 32830 in the N.E. ¼ of Section 10, Township 7, Range 14W1, as shown on a drawing and being attached to an application for subdivision file #14-4325-07-4280 and being submitted by the Council of the Village of Glenboro; be hereby approved by the Council of the Village of Glenboro. Approval is given subject to the following conditions: That a westerly 15-foot strip be added to the adjacent property to the west to enlarge Lot 16, Plan 1152. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept the “Offer to Purchase” submitted by Dan and Marlo Fehr of Glenboro, Manitoba for the property legally described as Lots 16/17; Block 7; Plan 45 in the Village of Glenboro; AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the purchasers be responsible for all legal costs regarding the transfer of title and purchase of said property. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro renew its’ certificate of insurance coverage for the period April 1, 2007 to April 1, 2008 under the A.M.M. Municipal General Insurance Program through the insurance brokerage firm of Hayhurst Elias Dudek Inc. and hereby pay the respective premium of $8,859.66. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village
of Glenboro authorize a grant in the amount of $150.00 to the Westman Region
KidSport Committee. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro renew its’ membership with the Hudson Bay Route Association and hereby authorize the payment of the 2007 membership fee of $25.00. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro acknowledge the receipt of the Glenboro Cemetery Committee’s 2007 budget and levy request of $1,750.00 from the Council of the Village of Glenboro. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro acknowledge the receipt of the Spruce Lakes Recreation District’s 2007 budget and levy request of $17,180.00 from the Council of the Village of Glenboro. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village
of Glenboro acknowledge the receipt of the Western Manitoba Regional Library’s
2007 operating budget and respective levy request of $4,920.00 from the Council
of the Village of Glenboro ($7.50 per capita). “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year 2007 accounts from cheque #1542 to and including cheque #1581 amounting to a total of $58,777.12, as fully detailed to Council by the Assistant C.A.O. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 9:45 p.m. to convene again for a special meeting (fiscal year 2007 budget) scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. “carried”
