Minutes of the tenth regular meeting of the 2007/2008 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.

 Present at the meeting: Mayor William R. Shackel, Councillors Robert G. Jewsbury, Steve R. Bjornson, Loren H. Nelson, Robert J. Gudnason and Chief Administrative Officer Eric C. Plaetinck.          

Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding, called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. 

RESOLVED that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday, July 8^th, 2008 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been fulfilled.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the purchase of a  Stihl 36cc Pole Pruner from the supplier with the most favourable price and service/warranty at a cost of up to $749.95 plus applicable taxes.

WHEREAS people today have the opportunity to live longer lives because of breakthroughs in medical research, and;

WHEREAS Muscular Dystrophy is a neuromuscular disorder that affects many and has no known cure, and;

WHEREAS only through the support of the community may a cure be found;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Village of Glenboro do hereby declare September 2008 as “Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month” in the Village of Glenboro.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year 2008 accounts from cheque #2827 to and including cheque #2873 amounting to a total of $60,718.79 as fully detailed to Council by the Chief Administrative Officer.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 9:30 p.m., to convene again for the next regular meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday, September 9^th, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
