R “carried" RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro partially compensate Assistant Town Foreman Greg Buck for the use of his personal cellular telephone while performing his duties for the Village of Glenboro. “carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the purchase of a hose
reel and 100 feet of 3500 p.s.i. extension hose for a ‘Storm’ pressure
washer from Central Transport Refrigeration Ltd. at and for the quoted price of
$552.00 plus applicable taxes.
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro re-appoint Westoba Credit Union
Ltd., Glenboro Branch, to provide all necessary banking and financial services
required by the Village during the term July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2011 as per
terms and conditions specified in a June 9, 2008 services contract.
“carried” Whereas the Canada Post Corporation Strategic Review, which was launched by the Federal Government on April 21, 2008, is looking at deregulating our public post office (ie: reducing or removing Canada Post’s exclusive privilege on letters); And Whereas it will become increasingly difficult for our public post office to provide affordable service to everyone, no matter where they live if the government erodes or eliminates the very mechanism that funds universal postal service – the exclusive privilege; And Whereas postal deregulation in other countries has led to post office closures, less service, fewer jobs and higher postal rates for the public and small businesses; And Whereas the government is not holding public hearings as part of its strategic review or adequately consulting with the real owners of the post office – the public;
Now Therefore Be It Resolved that
the Council of the Village of Glenboro send a letter or submission to the Canada
Post Corporation Strategic Review opposing deregulation of Canada Post and
insisting that the government hold public hearings and properly consult with the
true owners of Canada Post – the public.
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept and approve the Audited
Financial Statement and Supplementary Audit Report for the Village of Glenboro
for fiscal year 2007 ending December 31, 2007 as prepared and submitted by the
Chartered Accounting Firm of BDO Dunwoody of Winnipeg, Manitoba. |
