Minutes of the eighth regular meeting of the 2007/2008 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
Present at the
meeting: Mayor William R. Shackel, Councillors Robert G. Jewsbury, Steve R.
Bjornson, Robert J. Gudnason, Loren H. Nelson, Chief Administrative Officer Eric
C. Plaetinck and Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Darren J. Myers. Mayor
William R. Shackel, presiding, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. RESOLVED
that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday, May 13,
2008 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been
fulfilled.
“carried” Prior to the presentation of Resolution #2008-074 and the associated subject, Councillor Steve Bjornson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from the Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution. RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept the sidewalk replacement tender submitted by Bjorn Enterprises of Glenboro, Manitoba. “carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept the bid submitted by Mr. W.
Swanepoel of Glenboro, Manitoba for the purchase of Lot 4; Plan 47340 of the
Valmor Road Subdivision; AND
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that lot development conditions be applied to the sale of
the lot, most notably, that a dwelling be established thereon by December 31,
2009; AND
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that all transfer and legal costs be the responsibility
of the purchaser.
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept an “offer to purchase”
submitted by Mr. David Ediger of Glenboro, Manitoba for Lot 2 Block 2 Plan 45
owned by the Village of Glenboro; AND
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that all transfer and legal costs be the responsibility
of the purchaser.
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro accept the bid submitted by Mr.
Steve Bjornson of Glenboro, Manitoba for the purchase of Lot 3; Plan 47340 of

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro hold its’ annual Tax Sale on
Wednesday December 10, 2008 commencing at 2:00 p.m. at the office of the Village
of Glenboro located at 618 Railway Avenue, Glenboro Manitoba.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro conduct its “Board of Revision” for the 2009 Property Assessments on Tuesday October 21, 2008 commencing at 7:00 p.m.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro offer Glenn
Jefferies of Glenboro, Manitoba the cutting and removal of approximately 10
acres of hay around the Glenboro lagoon located on part of the NW ¼ of Section
10, Township 7, Range 14W for the 2008 harvest season.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize Assistant C.A.O. Darren
Myers to attend a Public Sector Accounting Board Implementation Training
Workshop being held July 17, 2008 in Brandon, Manitoba.
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the purchase of a 6’ x
8’ used mobile sign to be placed at the junction of Lyall Street and #2
Highway at a cost of $799.00 plus applicable taxes.
“carried” WHEREAS
the communities of Baldur, Glenboro and Wawanesa realize the difficulties facing
Ambulance Services; AND
WHEREAS the time commitment to gain the training and man this community service
is limiting volunteer commitment; NOW
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the communities of Baldur, Glenboro and Wawanesa
agree in principle to enter into discussions to operate a centrally based
Ambulance Service with paid personnel assisted by local volunteers to service
our communities.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro appoint Mayor Bill
Shackel to the BGW Ambulance Committee.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year
2008 accounts from cheque #2724 to and including cheque #2762 and cheque #2764
to and including cheque #2777 amounting to a total of $55,156.37 as fully
detailed to Council by the Assistant C.A.O.
“carried” Prior to the presentation of Resolution #2008-086 and the associated subject, Councillor Loren Nelson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from the Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution.
RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year
2008 account/cheque #2763 amounting to $251.76 as submitted to Council by the
Assistant C.A.O.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 9:40 p.m. to
convene again for the next regular meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday,
July 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
