Minutes of the eleventh regular meeting of the 2007/2008 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Present at the meeting: Mayor William R.
Shackel, Councillors Robert G. Jewsbury, Steve R. Bjornson, Robert J. Gudnason,
Loren H. Nelson and Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Darren J. Myers. Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding,
called the meeting to order at 6:58 p.m. During the meeting, at the time

Various Planning Matters

7:30 a.m.
RESOLVED
that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday, August
12, 2008 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been
fulfilled.
“carried”
RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro contract the services of Roy Wood of Killarney, Manitoba to move trees within Village limits at and for the quoted price of $90.00 per hour plus a one-way travel cost of $90.00. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize the removal, purchase and installation of new
guide rails and holders for the Main Lift Station from Contec Projects of
Winnipeg, Manitoba at and for the quoted price of $1,660.00 plus applicable
taxes.
“carried” Prior to the presentation of the following resolution and the associated subject, Councillor Steve Bjornson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from the Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution. RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro accept the “offer to purchase” submitted by Mr. Steve
Bjornson of Glenboro, Manitoba for part of Lots 3, 4 and 5; Block 21; Plan 755
owned by the Village of Glenboro, AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that
all transfer and legal costs be the responsibility of the purchaser.
“carried” RESOLVED that the property assessments as listed under Schedule “B” be added to the Village of Glenboro’s 2008 Assessment Roll under the authority of Section 321(1) of the Municipal Act;
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the additional taxes thereon as set
out in Schedule “C” be added to their respective property within the Village
of Glenboro, as added taxes for the year 2008 under the authority of Section
321(1) of the Municipal Act.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro acknowledge and accept notification from the City of Brandon
Fire Department that the 2009 enhanced 9-1-1 service fees for the Village be set
at $2.90 per capita, unchanged from 2008.

RESOLVED that Assistant C.A.O. Darren
Myers be authorized to attend the Manitoba Municipal Administrators’
Association District 2 meeting being held in Somerset, Manitoba September 22,
2008.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the acquisition of a
MasterCard Credit Card from Westoba Credit Union Ltd., Glenboro Branch, for the
Village of Glenboro with a credit limit of $30,000.00.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year 2008 accounts from
cheque #2874 to and including cheque #2898 and cheque #2900 to and including
cheque #2905 amounting to a total of $23,437.22 as fully detailed to Council by
the Assistant C.A.O. “carried” Prior to the presentation of the following resolution and the associated subject, Councillor Loren Nelson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from the Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution.
RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year 2008 account/cheque
#2899 amounting to $60.39 as submitted to Council by the Assistant C.A.O.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro do now adjourn, at 9:37 p.m., to convene again for the next
regular meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
