Minutes of the second regular meeting of
the 2009/2010 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal
Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Tuesday, December
8, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Present at the meeting: Mayor William R.
Shackel, Councillors Wayne C. Davidson, Loren H. Nelson, Robert G. Jewsbury,
Steve R. Bjornson, Chief Administrative Officer Eric C. Plaetinck and Assistant
Chief Administrative Officer Darren J. Myers.
Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding,
called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. RESOLVED
that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday November
10, 2009 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been
fulfilled.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro give second and third reading to By-Law #715 (vis-à-vis the
cancellation of taxes and or monies owing to the Village of Glenboro) and that
it be signed by the Mayor and the Chief Administrative Officer, sealed and
delivered.

RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give second and third reading to
By-Law #716 (vis-à-vis the compensation/remunerations
/indemnities payable to the 2009/2010 Council Members) and that it be
signed by the Mayor and the Chief Administrative Officer, sealed and delivered.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro give first reading to By-Law #717 (vis-à-vis the
re-formation of the Spruce Lakes Recreation District).
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give first reading to By-Law #718
(vis-à-vis borrowing/overdraft authorization at the Westoba Credit Union Ltd.,
Glenboro Branch).
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro sponsor the Glenboro-South Cypress Fire Department in their
hosting of the 2010 Manitoba Provincial Firefighter’s Curling Championships
being held February 4 – 7th, 2010 in Glenboro, Manitoba by
sponsoring a quarter page ad in the event program at a cost of $500.00.
“carried” WHEREAS
in accordance with Section 163 of the Municipal Act the Council of the Village
of Glenboro has made an Interim Operating Budget for all the expenditures of the
Village for the period January 1, 2010 until the adoption of the Annual
Estimates; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the
Provisional Estimates as set out in Schedule “A” be hereby approved by the
Council of the Village of Glenboro.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize Councillor Steve Bjornson to attend the “New
Landscape: Health and Safety for the Body and Mind” Workshop being held
January 20 - 21, 2010 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year 2009 accounts from
cheque #3566 to and including cheque #3597 and cheque #3599 to and including
cheque #3612 amounting to a total of $266,573.41 as fully detailed to Council by
the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer.
“carried” Prior to the presentation of the
following resolution and the associated subject, Councillor Loren Nelson, having
a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from the Council Chambers, not
returning until after the vote on said resolution. RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year 2009 account cheque
#3598 amounting to a total of $26.90 as fully detailed to Council by the
Assistant Chief Administrative Officer.

that the Council of the Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 8:38 p.m., to
convene again at the next regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday January 12, 2010
at 7:00 p.m.
