Minutes of the seventh regular meeting
of the 2008/2009 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the
Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on
Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Present at the meeting: Mayor William R.
Shackel, Councillors Loren H. Nelson, Steve R. Bjornson, Robert G. Jewsbury and
Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Darren J. Myers.
Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding,
called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. During the meeting, at the times indicated, Council met with the following delegations: J. P. Rousseau } Accessory Building Placement on

Planning Matters
RESOLVED
that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday April
14, 2009 be taken as read and approved, all statutory requirements having been
fulfilled.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro give second and third reading reading to By-Law #713 (Year
2009 School and Municipal Property Tax Levy).

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give second and
third reading to By-Law #714 (Appointment of a Tax Sale Manager for the Village
of Glenboro).
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro ratify the summer employment of Justin Vallotton of
Glenboro, Manitoba for the Village of Glenboro effective immediately.
“carried” Prior to the presentation of the following Resolution and the associated subject, Councillor Steve Bjornson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from the Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution.
RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro approve the proposal
put forth by Mr. Steve Bjornson of Glenboro, Manitoba to place a 30’ by 80’
accessory building on the property legally described as part Lots 3/5 Block 21
Plan 755 subject to the following condition: That the lots must be consolidated
with Mr. Bjornson’s residential lot to the east.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro accept the offer submitted by Robbin and Cory Anderson of
Brandon, Manitoba for the purchase of Lot 4 of the Valmor Road Subdivision at
and for the quoted price; AND FUTHER BE IT RESOLVED that lot
development terms and conditions be applied to the sale of the lot, most
notably, that a dwelling be established thereon by December 31, 2009; AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that all
transfer and legal costs be the responsibility of the purchaser.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro approve the subdivision application submitted by the
Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation and their subsequent proposal to
subdivide Pt. Block 17 Plan 498 WLTO within Village Limits subject to the
following condition: That Manitoba Housing and Renewal
Corporation enter into a development agreement with the Village of Glenboro
regarding residence size and type.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro ratify the purchase of one (1) Flygt C3127 10 hp pump
complete with cable, slide adapter and delivery to Winnipeg from Contec Projects
of Winnipeg, Manitoba at and for the quoted price of $7,990.00 plus
installation, replacement pump rental of $1,500.00 and applicable taxes.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro sponsor the Glenboro
UCT Bike Rodeo being held on June 15th, 2009 at Glenboro School and
hereby authorize a grant of $25.00 for the purchase of a new bicycle helmet.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro purchase the
property legally described as Lot 12/14 Block 6 Plan 45, for the agreed to
price, provided that the property be free and clear of all legal encumbrances
(liens, caveats etc….); AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that all
transfer and legal costs be the responsibility of the purchaser.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro enter into an
agreement for the payment of taxes subject to the terms and conditions as
specified in Schedule A of said agreement with respect to the following
property:
Roll #5600 - Lot 8 Block 4 Plan 45.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize Mayor William Shackel, Assistant C.A.O. Darren
Myers, Councillors Bob Jewsbury and Steve Bjornson to attend the A.M.M. Western
District Meeting being held in Killarney, Manitoba on Wednesday June 17, 2009.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro appoint William
Shackel as an alternate Committee Member to the Glenboro-South Cypress Fire
Board to act in the absence of one of the regular appointed Village of Glenboro
Council Members.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro contract the services of Fort Distributors Ltd. for the
supply and application, in the summer of 2009, of approximately 20,000 litres of
Magnesium Chloride (dust control) onto GlenTown Road, South Railway Avenue and
other required streets and lanes in the Village of Glenboro at and for the
quoted price of $.27 per litre.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the
payment of fiscal year 2009 accounts from cheque #3281 to and including cheque
#3317 amounting to a total of $28,199.74 as fully detailed to Council by the
Assistant C.A.O.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 9:50 p.m. to convene again for the next
regular scheduled meeting of Council to be held Tuesday June 9, 2009 at 7:00
p.m.
