Minutes of the sixth regular meeting of
the 2009/2010 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal
Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Monday, April 12,
2010 at 7:00 p.m. Present at the meeting: Mayor William R.
Shackel, Councillors Loren H. Nelson, Steve R. Bjornson, Robert G. Jewsbury,
Wayne C. Davidson, Chief Administrative Officer Eric C. Plaetinck and Assistant
Chief Administrative Officer Darren J. Myers.
Mayor William R. Shackel, presiding,
called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m During the meeting, at the times
indicated, Council conducted the noted Public Hearing and also met with the

RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro give second and third reading to By-Law #720 (Campaign
Expenses and Contributions). “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro accept the student employment application submitted by Jory
Coates of Glenboro, Manitoba for the position of Assistant Utilityman/Groundskeeper
for the employment term Monday May 3, 2010 to August 20, 2010 and at the agreed
to wage.
“carried” At a Public Hearing held at 8:00 p.m.
in regard to the Village of Glenboro’s 2010 Financial Plan, there was no
representation made by the public.
RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro give first reading
to By-Law #721 (Year 2010 School and Municipal Property Tax Levy).
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro appoint Village ratepayer Bill Nichols to the Epinette
Willow Sub District Board of the Assiniboine Hills Conservation District.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro enter into an agreement for the payment of tax arrears, subject to the terms and conditions as specified in Schedule “A” of said agreement, with respect to the property on tax roll #5600.
“carried” WHEREAS Section 365(2) of the
Municipal Act provides that Council may in any year designate the immediately
preceding year, or any earlier year, as the year for which properties, the taxes
in respect of which are in arrears for the year, must be offered for sale by
auction to recover the tax arrears and costs; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the
designated year for which properties in arrears be offered for sale by auction
be 2009 (meaning all properties with outstanding taxes from the year 2008 or
prior). “carried”
RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the
payment of fiscal year 2010 accounts from cheque #3761 to and including cheque
#3811 amounting to a total of $113,239.50 as fully detailed to Council by the
Assistant C.A.O.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 9:29 p.m. to convene again for the next
regular meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday May 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.
