Minutes of the sixth regular meeting of the 2010/2011 Council of the Village of Glenboro held in the Village/Municipal Council Chambers at 618 Railway Avenue Glenboro, Manitoba on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Present
at the meeting: Mayor Robert G. Jewsbury, Councillors Wayne C. Davidson, Loren
H. Nelson, Jesse K. Janz, Steve R. Bjornson and Assistant Chief Administrative
Officer Darren J. Myers. During the meeting, at the time
indicated, Council conducted the noted Public Hearing: Public Hearing } Village
of Glenboro’s 2011 Financial Plan

p.m. Mayor Robert G. Jewsbury, presiding,
called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. RESOLVED
that the minutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday March 8,
2011 and a special meeting held on Sunday April 3, 2011 be taken as read and
approved, all statutory requirements having been fulfilled.

RESOLVED that the
Council of the Village of Glenboro give second and third reading to By-Law #728
(vis-ŕ-vis Transient Trader By-law).
“carried” At a Public Hearing held at 8:00 p.m.
in regard to the Village of Glenboro’s 2011 Financial Plan, there was no
representation made by the public.
RESOLVED that Council
of the Village of Glenboro give first reading to By-Law #729 (vis-ŕ-vis
2011 School and Municipal Property Tax Levy).
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro appoint Mayor Robert G. Jewsbury to the Glenboro
Age-Friendly Community Committee.
“carried” Prior to the presentation of the following Resolution and the associated subject, Councillor Loren Nelson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from the Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution. RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro, jointly with the Council of the R.M. of South Cypress,
ratify the purchase of a Wilson Cellular Telephone Booster from H and L Motors
of Glenboro, Manitoba, for the Village/R.M. Administration Office.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro grant $200.00 to the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation Fund
to commission a memorial in memory of local soldiers who have died in service
for their community and country.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro purchase the property legally described as Lot(s) 16/17
Block 7 Plan 45; AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that all
transfer and legal costs be the responsibility of the purchaser. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro enter into agreements for the payment of tax arrears,
subject to the terms and conditions as specified in schedule “A” of said
agreement, with registered owners of the following properties: Roll #5600 Lot 8 Block 4 Plan 45 Roll#13300 Lot(s) 8/12 Block 8 Plan
45
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro, jointly with the Council of the R.M. of South Cypress, hire
a permanent part-time office administrative staff person for a total of one day
per week with duties to commence in June of 2011 or shortly thereafter; AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the
wage be negotiated with said employee based on qualifications and / or related
experience. “carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize Assistant CAO Darren Myers to attend the Manitoba
Municipal Administrators’ Conference being held May 1 – 4th, 2011
in Brandon, Manitoba.
“carried” RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro conduct its’ Board of Revision for
the 2012 Assessment Roll on Tuesday October 11, 2011 commencing at 8:00 p.m.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year 2011 accounts from
cheque #4319 to and including cheque #4366 and cheque #4368 to and including
cheque #4373 amounting to a total of $61,036.18 as fully detailed to Council by
the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer.
“carried” Prior to the presentation of the following Resolution and the associated subject, Councillor Loren Nelson, having a personal interest in the matter, withdrew from the Council Chambers, not returning until after the vote on said resolution. RESOLVED
that the Council of the Village of Glenboro authorize the payment of fiscal year
2011 account/cheque #4367 amounting to $1,116.43 as submitted to Council by the
Assistant Chief Administrative Officer.
“carried” RESOLVED that the Council of the
Village of Glenboro do now adjourn at 9:10
p.m., to convene again for the next regular meeting of Council scheduled for
Tuesday May 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
